What was the first impression of this album for me ? Well, it is dark, heavy and twisted. Pure evil as it is said. Very heavy and dark album by K.F.R and it is in French school and tradition. Vocals are like of a dying man on this one. Dark ambient, that goes along with it, makes it more dark and sinister. If you are scared easily don't even go for this one, but for a trve black metal fan this is A MUST HAVE album. No favourite tracks because you have to listen to it in whole to understand it.

La démo Yūrei, amalgame de dark ambiant et de dungeon synth principalement, était une sacrée mise à l'épreuve, une entrée dans un monde monstrueux. Shi No Kage, premier album de Kyūketsuki, est l'opportunité pour Maxime Taccardi de prendre son envol et faire planer cette fois l'ombre de la mort. La guitare black metal, distordue et dérangeante, fait désormais partie intégrante de son culte mortuaire atypique ("Fuyu ga kita", "Shi no kage"). Le chant de Yūrei ? Tellement nuancé, maudit ("Sutra").

AKUMA est une rencontre avec l'interdit — jusqu'à la malédiction de "トミノの地獄 (Hell of Tomino)" que Yūrei s'inflige... ou qu'il nous transmet —, un point de bascule dans le monde des démons. Le black metal ambiant de Yūrei, parfois à la limite du soutenable, ne fait pas que reprendre les codes du sacré : il les inverse. Ainsi "樹海 (Jukai, the sea of trees)" transforme le rituel bouddhiste en instant d'horreur ; les gongs sonnent de manière répétée jusqu'à la transe. 皮の嚢（ふくろ）にやいくらほど入れよ、 無間地獄の旅支度。
